I’d also like you to look at the Japanese logo design just to be certain it is correct.

Once you’re done, we should meet either tomorrow or Friday to look at it together. I can meet you anytime between 10:00 and 11:30 on either day. Please let me know a time that is convenient for you.

Subject: Malcolm Dingee Prize

Hello, everyone:

I would just like to let you know that, once again, Lancaster Petro is accepting nominations for the Malcolm Dingee Prize. As you know, this prize awarded every year to a researcher whose work has led to the creation of an enviromentally friendly fuel for use in a variety of vehicles.

You are allowed to nominate any Lancaster employees, but the person you recommend must have at least five years of experience in the field. Attendance at Lancaster’s annual awards dinner scheduled for the evening of December 12 is also mandatory for the nominee so please make sure the individual is available on that particular evening. Although a fee of $14 will be charged to cover the meal, half of the money earned will be donated to help fund expensive surgeries at the Flintmore Children’s Hospital.

Attached, please find a copy of the nomination form. Please complete one form for every individual and submmit them to either Jillian Traivs, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, or Liam Winston, vice-president of Lancaster Petro. The dealine is December 3.

Paris – European car giant, Lafleur Auto, has announced plans to lay off over 1,500 factory workers over the next two months. The announcement was made by Gilles Gallant, Vice-President of the corporation, at a press conference early this morning.
Lafleur Auto attributes the cuts to a combination of factors including the increasing popularity of public transportation in many huge cities as well as huge drop in global sales this past year. “We saw a 24% decrease in car sales in North America this past year and that is only one part of the world”, said Gilles Gallant. “To survive, a corporation has to make money, not lose it, so we have not other alternative but to make some major money-saving changes.”
At this point, it is unknown exactly who will be laid off from the company. However, a company spokesperson did state that at least 600 of the cuts will take place at Lafluer’s main factory in downtown Paris. Other cuts will take place at its London plant, its two New York –based plants and one tiny factory in Melbourne, Australia. Employees here in Paris have been told to expect that they will receive news within two weeks while employees in other countries probably won’t receive any notification until early September. These layoffs will be the first of their kind for Lafleur ever since it manufactured and sold its very first vehicle, the Blue Hawk, in 1958.
